I know that gimp has no equal on Linux, but my challenge is that its not the best by any stretch of imagination. On features it’s not as good as it should be, considering most people use it, I know it’s free but there is no reason to make an image editing software that make poor images like this. And such a hard and longer learning curve. A better software package can be built either at a Price or for free. Linux deserves this. How I don’t know, yet
I don’t want to start mentioning Photoshop as if I’m making a comparison. But yah! This thing (GIMP) doesn’t work. What makes me sad is that I choose not to pirate Photoshop and spent months learning and playing with no return on invested time and energy, because I need to edit images, I do need to draw.
In terms of photo editing, there are a lot of Android image editing software that are better than Gimp, because they have a simple UI.
GIMP is very quick to load on Linux, very slow on Windows, I love it on Linux, in fact, in most application work really well on Linux
Again it doesn’t help to be criticize, what's the solution. If GIMP sucks what can be done about it. Well again develop a commercial applications that will get coders money, and if coders eat Linux → Gimp will win.
Firstly Gimp is very hard to learn there is no easy way in getting around Gimp without spending large part of your life learning it.
It would help if they could make GIMP easy to learn, have a simple basic command interface that is within reach, that would make it easy to start. Get done with all the easy stuff of tweaking your image, then the advanced stuff as you need it through the menu options
