The 1st Linux distribution I ever tried to install was Ubuntu. I couldn’t install it (now when I look back I think it was the CPU architecture I was using on my PC) completely so I let it go. It would be too years before I’d try and install another Linux distro.
I then Installed fedora successfully and at that point all I wanted to do was to play my movies and videos for which I couldn’t. Let it go, and about 1 year and I installed Linux Mint 14.1 cinnamon version which I ran for about a month at which point I then thought about creating this blog and share my experience with the Linux environment. Oh Linux Mint crashed on me as I was unable to access the drive loaded within it. The error goes: we are unable to load, Ctrl-Alt-delete for restart “when I did that it took me back to the same command line error
I was very disappointed with Linux. Mac is well known for its reliability, how will Linux ever compete with Mac OS if they’re still struggling like this.
OK fine moving forward. I’ve downloaded Chakra Linux together with eclipse C++, I’m still to download Voyager Linux (from France), I think its GNOME, not KDE like Chakra.
This is my plan. I want to do my development for Linux and the web on voyager and / or Chakra Linux.
I must say my 1st attempt on Linux I had no assistant at all, though a friend of mine had shown me the installation process on his computer. It was still a giant leep scary, but fun and mostly worth all the effort
