Installing Blender, before the Big update

I've been meaning to install blender after the update, but I'm not really so much interested in the update, and I hope that it will be a bit less on the data side.

I have to get to work.

There are a couple of external renders that I want to look into.

1. Mitsuba {I love it its also available for blender and from their website it looks like I'll have the best time of my artistic life with this one}
2. Luxrender {this i know is also available for Linux}
3. Aqsis
4. POV-Ray

Or maybe I will wait...
